Located near Irving Park in northeast Portland, this house contains a single family home over a ground floor accessory dwelling unit (ADU). The clean form of the exterior integrates many upcycled and reclaimed construction materials. The floor construction is construction of reclaimed cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels. Excess material from another project was carefully laid out to minimize cuts and waste. The windows were also unused from another project and arranged on the façade to look like this is where they were always meant to be.
