The mixed-use multi-family building at Downtown Rockwood is a 108-unit ‘four-over-one structure’. It forms the visual face of the larger development from two of the surrounding streets and anchors the northern edge of the extensive public plaza at the heart of the master plan. The design sought to provide nearly every unit with substantial private outdoor space which in turn helps activate the plaza and urban street edges the building helps establish.

The program and massing feature a generous second floor communal resident amenity terrace with pavilion, barbecue and jacuzzi facilities, as well as carefully landscaped elevated garden areas and private patios. The ground floor commercial area is a deep plate with highly glazed, granularly articulated retail spaces at the edges and the opportunity for a larger tenant at the middle. The buildings distinctive form and architectural language was devised to instill a unique character to the new town center.
