Emerge Interactive is a Portland-based digital marketing consultancy at the cutting edge of its field. It needed an office space that was aligned with its brand position and ethos. The top floor of a historic warehouse-office building at the epicenter of a downtown district undergoing intensive rejuvenation offered the perfect opportunity. YBA worked closely with Emerge to develop a design that both revealed and amplified the historic bones of the existing structure while inserting a flexible, ultra-forward looking new layout of working, social and meeting spaces.

The design combined open plan spaces with closed offices and acoustically isolated meeting and call rooms. An extensive new kitchen, bar and lounge area was integrated, along with indoor bike parking and bathroom/changing facilities for the largely bike-commuting staff. The overall flow and configuration of the office allows for flexibility and pulsing of size and team structure, as well as offering a variety of spatial venues for team and client communications.
