YBA partnered with The Andersen Construction Foundation to develop a sustainable, replicable, two room classroom building out of new, recycled and repurposed materials. The structure integrated two large shipping containers which were also used to transport the building materials to the site. The predominately metal building will be secure, durable and resistant to natural threats such as termites and dry rot. Effort has been made to take advantage of natural lighting, ventilation, and security.

In addition to creating two classroom buildings, this project also provided an infusion of funds into the local economy, as considerable efforts were made to purchase materials locally. A significant employment opportunity was created through the two-week project, and care was taken to hire an equal number of men and women, all varying ages, with priority given to young adult orphans. More than 40 workers came out to the site each day.
