The Aviva Women Infants and Children Clinic (Aviva WIC) at Downtown Rockwood is a health and nutrition facility operated by Multnomah County. YBA worked closely with WIC leadership and staff to design this state of the art facility to serve young the families, mothers and children of the Rockwood Community and East Multnomah County. Aviva WIC is situated in a 10,000 square foot tenant space in the ground floor of Aviva Apartments—the flagship hybrid market rate and affordable mixed use apartment building in the larger urban design for Downtown Rockwood that YBA envisioned and delivered over the past decade with RKm Development, the Gresham Redevelopment Commission and the City of Gresham, along with dozens of community advocates, partners, entrepreneurs and organizations.

Aviva WIC features over a dozen treatment rooms, a breastfeeding center, call center, community meeting and training rooms, a flexible teaching kitchen and staff and community dining area and administrative offices. The design optimizes daylight and views and a feeling of welcome and comfort for the substantial program while maintaining a high level of access security.
